I had been thinking that when my blog’s total page views hit 50,000 again, I’d write a celebratory post. Little did I expect that the clicks would grow much faster than I imagined — before I could even finish drafting the celebration, the number had already blown past it.
Quantity Beats Quality?
My old blogging principle was to make each post as complete as possible, serving as reference material for my future self. But this approach had a painfully long production cycle — from having an idea to finally publishing it, weeks or even months could slip by. Many topics I wanted to write about ended up indefinitely delayed because the content didn’t feel complete enough or because I thought I wouldn’t need it later.
Now my workflow has completely changed: whenever an idea pops into my head, I toss it straight to AI to generate a draft, then find time to revise, supplement, and adjust. The whole process can yield a post in as little as 10 minutes. Sure, each article may lack the “depth” of my earlier meticulously polished versions, but there’s no arguing with the volume.
And then I noticed — with more posts, the total view count grew much faster than before… Now I finally understand what matrix accounts and content farms are all about…
Why “Again”?
Looking at the timeline, I first started writing blog posts with GitHub back in 2016 — that’s almost 10 years ago. In that time, I’ve switched or upgraded the Hexo theme multiple times, and each migration lost the page view data, so… I’ve never really known how many people beyond myself actually read this stuff.
Considering a Migration
Since the last theme upgrade, I’ve been using “Busuanzi.” It’s simple and works, but it’s not very convenient for statistics and data display. So I’ll look into what platforms this theme supports and switch to something more controllable (like LeanCloud?).
